Report about (1) EuDML (2) EoM (Activities of the Committee for Electronic Publishing of the EMS in 2012) (1) EuDML: EuDML is well documented on its website: http://project.eudml.org It's state and facilities can be exercised there, e.g. it's search and browsing facilities, which is still in beta state, but very well functioning already. On the occasion of the Washington DC workshop (June 1-3, 2012) "The Future World Heritage Digital Mathematics Library: Plans and Prospects" http://ada00.math.uni-bielefeld.de/dml it was recognized as some nucleus of the World Digital Mathematics Library. Quoting from the final report of that workshop: During the symposium, the existing European Digital Mathematics Library (EuDML) was often cited as a prototype for building a truly global DML. Consequently, the question of whether such a WDML is feasible is, in principle, resolved. The eventual WDML can capitalize on the accumulated expertise and accomplishments of the project EuDML. One potential strategy would be to merge and extend the EuDML with an as yet unrealized US-DML, as well as include heritage material from other countries, such as Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, etc., in order to form the core of the WDML. Recent Documentation: The EMS Newsletter, issue 85, September 2012, published a paper by Olaf Teschke (FIZ) and Jiří Rákosník (IMAS) reporting on the current EuDML Release 1.3 and on the foreseen future of the EuDML. The publication is available at: http://www.ems-ph.org/journals/newsletter/pdf/2012-09-85.pdf#page=57 In 2012, there have already been 4 publications about EuDML on the occasion of various conferences, see http://project.eudml.org/scientific-publications. It's further development has been taken care of by some Horizon 2020 proposal. EU support runs out by January 31, 2013. Measures for sustainability are being taken. ------------------------------------------------------------- (2) EoM (Encyclopedia of Mathematics) cf. http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org The pages seem to have already become quite attractive: There are, by now, 15870 content pages. Since the start of EoM there have been 24513 page edits, and EoM has 1181 registered users. Total views already do amount to 2633288, which yields 107.42 views per edit. The main page has been visited 897927 times. There is an attractive discussion page, which was viewed already 8624 times. On that page active users discuss editorial and technical issues, questions, problems, and other things concerning the EoM collection as a whole. More editorial activity in any field still is welcome and desired. Still, every now and then, there is a spam problem. Despite some access protection, inappropriate material is inserted, including advertising links to external material unrelated to EoM issues etc. However, several users help detecting ans removing things like this in an efficient way.
