Which degree is for me?

All of our degrees are offered at honours standard and each one will provide you with an exceptional training for future careers.  We offer two distinct types of degrees.

The first type of degree involves students choosing a particular specialization from entry into UCD. We offer four denominated entry degree programmes: BSc Mathematical Science, BSc Theoretical Physics, BAFS Actuarial and Financial Studies, BSC Climate and Earth System Science.

The second type of degree involves students choosing Science Omnibus (DN008) or Arts Omnibus (DN012) on their CAO form. These are our most flexible degrees and students study for honours degrees in Mathematics, Mathematical Physics or Statistics. Students can take all of the same modules as on the denominated entry degree programmes mentioned above but they also have the opportunity to take a very flexible mix of Science or Arts/Social Science subjects in addition to their eventual specialized major subject.

It is worth noting that we also offer a one year postgraduate Higher Diploma in Actuarial Studies. This course, the first of its kind in Ireland, will enable graduates from any of our degrees (other than Actuarial Science) to study for and obtain exemptions from many of the Core Technical professional exams of the Institute/Faculty of Actuaries.
